Remove hum
The low buzz from cables, lights and chargers, found and cut out without dulling the voice. It all happens on your computer.
How to do it
- 1Choose a recording, or drop it on the box.
- 2The tool listens for hum and tells you if it found 50 Hz or 60 Hz. You can pick the other one if you know better.
- 3Press Remove the hum, then play the before and after.
- 4Save the result as an MP3 or a WAV file.

Where does hum come from?
From the mains electricity. It cycles 50 times a second in Europe, Africa, most of Asia and Australia, and 60 times a second in North America. A cable, a guitar amp or a light near the microphone picks it up as a low tone.
How is it removed?
With very narrow filters placed exactly on the hum and on its harmonics, the higher copies that make it sound like a buzz. They are narrow enough that the voice around them is not changed.
There is still a hiss after the hum is gone.
